Full-Stack Software Engineer
The Well Living Lab (WLL) is looking for an early to mid-career Full-Stack Software Engineer to support our application development and expand our technical capabilities. The selected candidate will work closely with the Well Living Lab Technology Director, senior technology team members, and the rest of the lab team to design and develop applications and solutions to support our human-centered research. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to bring cutting-edge technology to the lab in support of innovative research on how indoor environmental factors impact human health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support WLL software applications
Be the domain expert in software application development
Work closely with WLL technology team to support and implement technical capabilities
Ensure WLL technologies are designed, architected, and implemented to run inside and outside the lab space.
Be a key technology member to support leadership in the strategy, design, selection, implementation, and application of information technologies to satisfy the requirements and specifications of WLL research projects
Assist in translating research project needs and business requirements into aligned IT solutions and a portfolio of programs, projects, and applications
Socialize the technical expertise and knowledge of the Well Living Lab in the form of white papers, articles, and other shareable assets
Represent the WLL technology team to external groups when needed
Support internal and external IT client/vendor/peer relationships
Collaborate with Delos and/or Mayo Clinic technology teams when appropriate
Assist with WLL activities as needed that may fall outside of the above job description to ensure the mission of the WLL is fulfilled
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above with relevant work experience in one or more of the following fields:
Software Engineering
Computer Science
Information Technology
Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
At least 2-5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years of that as a full-stack developer
At least 1 year of experience in developing solutions with cloud-based technologies in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
At least 1 year of iOS and/or Android app development experience
Experience with databases, writing queries, stored procedures, SQL, and NOSQL
Ability to thrive in self-managed and team-based work
Enthusiasm to learn, use, and develop innovative research skills, technologies, and tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective time management skills
Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative and constructive outlook
Ability to thrive in team-based work environment
Ardent detail-orientation, organizational skills, and commitment to delivering high quality work
A curious, enthusiastic, and creative mindset for delivering innovative technology solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the following technologies: C#, NodeJS, Typescript, python, web development
Understanding of microservices architecture and its deployment using Docker
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking
Experience working with biometric and physiological wearable devices
Experience with technologies such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino
Experience in integrating with IoT sensors and devices
Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Experience working in a research and multidisciplinary team setting
Compensation:
Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included for full-time employees.
