What is it?
An individual’s ability to perform various mental activities, including receiving, choosing, processing, and retrieval of information so that it allows the individual to navigate the world.
Why is it important?
Cognitive function is necessary for the pursuit of any goal-directed action in everyday life. Research shows that it declines relatively early in adulthood.
Think it Out App developed at Well Living Lab is used in research studies being conducted at the lab to measure cognitive function.
The tests administered in the mobile application are supported by research and peer-reviewed tests. The mobile app provides us a way to deliver and administer these tests securely and tailored to the study needs.
PRODUCT FEATURES
For Participants
Working memory test.
Tests, the ability to hold, manipulate, and update information in memory.
Necker cube pattern control.
This test measures subject capacity to direct mental effort.
Response inhibition test.
Ability to deliberately inhibit automatic responses.
Psychomotor vigilance task
This is a test that measures the speed with which subjects respond to a visual stimulus.
Task Switching test.
Ability to shift between tasks or operations.
For Administrators
Setup study.
Research team can setup a study using the administrative tool which will be utilizing the cognitive tests.
Embed a survey in the mobile app.
Research team also has the ability to embed surveys which participants can answer within the mobile app
Assign cognitive test to participants.
Research team can assign participants to a study, enable various cognitive tests available within the application to the participants.
View test results in the admin app.
Research team has the ability to view and analyze the test results with the administrative tool.
Configure & schedule cognitive tests.
Research team can configure the cognitive tests and schedule them to be taken at certain intervals, days, time etc.

The mobile app and the administrative application are all cloud-based. This means that cognitive tests can be administered outside the walls of the Well Living Lab.

All data collected via the app is secured and confidential in HIPPA compliant data storage. Access is also based on logins and limited access based on a time window.

The application is customizable by the research team and has the ability to add and administer new tests.
